When I was kid I loved to watch the television show The Dukes of Hazard. After that show came Dallas. While I was too young to stay up and watch Dallas I was allowed to listen to the iconic theme song during the opening credits. Dallas was one of the most popular television shows from 1978 to 1991. It centered around oil and ranching tycoons and the Ewing family. There was plenty of drama, comedy, and even an attempted murder or two. “Who shot JR?” is still one of the lasting legacies of 1980’s TV. Now the show is played in syndication on cable TV networks and an entirely new audience. It was only a matter of time before the classic prime time drama made its way to the casino floors. Now, it is being offered online.
The online bingo and gambling site Bingo.com as recently announced that they have launched a Dallas themed online slot game. Dallas has been produced in association with Net Entertainment and Warner Brothers Television. It brings back all the famous characters, scenes, oil fields, the Southfork Ranch, and that great theme song. “This game is based on the top-rated television show of the 1980s and features anything from oil wells, JR and ranch-style living,” read a statement from the online gambling site. “JR Ewing once said ‘all that matters is winning’ and Dallas the game embraces these values by offering plenty of winning opportunities in the form of free spins and an exciting bonus game.”
While players of the new online slot game will definitely love seeing the faces of JR Ewing, Sue Ellen, Jock, Lucy, and Miss Ellie, they will be overjoyed with the games bonuses. There is an Oil Field Bonus and a Dallas Downtown bonus. For 1980’s TV fans this is one of the big ones. Dallas defined a decade. I know I will be playing, even if it is only to hear the theme song again.
