Everyone knows that online gambling has been illegal in the United States since 2006. However, it is also common knowledge that Americans still enjoy gambling online. It is also fairly accepted that online gambling will soon be making its way back to the States. Several states and the federal government have proposals for bills that would allow for some sort of online gaming. New Jersey is only one step away as an online gambling bill is waiting for the governor’s signature. All of this news means that casino operators may have a lot to learn in the near future. When they do, they are going to have to learn how to do it fast. There is good news. Casino operators will be able to grab a jump start this spring when the United States holds its first iGaming North America conference.
This is just what North America needs. Already several Canadian provinces have started their own online gambling enterprises. The United States (and Canada to a certain extent) need to get up to speed if they are going to catch up to the Europeans and start off on the right foot. The inaugural iGaming North America conference will focus on education and training on what casinos operators can expect should online gambling be re-legalized. In fact, the theme of the conference is “The Road to Legalization.” “The discussion has evolved beyond the speculative tone we’ve seen in recent years, and there’s a high demand for practical guidance as businesses enter uncharted territory,” commented one of the organizers, Mark Balestra. He went on to say that the main focus will be “on ‘how-to’ rather than ‘what-if’”.
The inaugural iGaming North America conference will be held from May 2 to 4 at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. It is appropriate that the casino and gambling capital of the United States should play host to this historic event. BolaVerde Media Group, Lewis & Roca and The Innovation Group are all listed as organizers.
